AFTERTHOUGHTS started out as a dropcloth. Many panels of fabric were painted
on top of it over the course of months, or maybe even, years. After washing
it out recently, I noticed a stark yet appealing composition that had developed
by chance. I pinned it up on my wall and realized that indeed I wanted to
let it stand on its own. I loved the way it was a little off kilter, so I
added strips of painted fabric at the top and the bottom to square off the
whole.
There is no deep or hidden meaning in this piece, but I imagine viewers
will have many different interpretations.
